Join the Bell Curves Team!
If you enjoy teaching and have exceptional scores on standardized tests, you may be right for the Bell Curves team of skilled, passionate instructors. We seek instructors who wish to not only hold an interesting, high-paying, and flexible part-time job, but who also want to be part of reshaping the education industry and contributing positively to the lives of others. Our teachers must be energetic, caring, engaging, and dedicated to helping others.
While we are always looking for new teachers, we are currently especially interested in and actively interviewing prospective teachers in New York City, Long Island, Philadelphia, Houston, Atlanta, Washington DC, Boston, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area (SF/Oakland).
Qualifications
In order to effectively teach, you must be able to demonstrate a mastery of the test. A history of achievement on standardized tests or in academic settings is required to be considered for a teaching position.
Hiring Process
Our general hiring process includes three steps:
-
Interview
We interview all qualified candidates. The interview will last approximately one hour and includes a short teaching demonstration and mini-test.
-
Train
Our training is the core of our teacher development and support program. In our training program we convey our teaching methodology and help draw out our prospective instructors' presentation skills. We also use our training to most effectively assess a candidate's teaching skills, mastery of content, and professionalism.
-
Test
For prospective GMAT, LSAT, and GRE instructors, we require all instructors to sit for the actual exam immediately following training or to have an official test score from the last 2 years. For prospective ACT, SAT, ISEE, SSAT and SHSAT teachers, we expect you to sit for an exam at one of our sites.
We only hire part-time instructors who can commit to work with us for at least a year. Instructors who remain with us for longer than a year may be offered one of our coveted salaried teaching positions, which offers benefits such as: health insurance, paid vacation, and educational supplements.
